The Birmingham Pragati Mandal – a local Hindu charity – has raised an impressive £3,200 for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice.
The Hindu charity hosted a lively ‘Dinner and Dance’ event at the Shree Krishna Temple in Sparkbrook, to help raise crucial funds for local families living with terminal illness.
Over 225 guests attended the vibrant evening, which included a traditional feast and live Bollywood performances by Melody Express of London.
All money raised will go towards Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, which provides expert end of life care at the Hospice, in people’s homes and in the local community.
Polly Patel, volunteer ambassador at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, said: “The Birmingham Pragati Mandal’s event was a truly fantastic evening and it was brilliant to see so many people come together to raise funds for our Hospice.
“We are hugely grateful to everyone that supported us and for their incredible generosity. The money raised will make a big difference and will allow us to continue to provide expert care to over 1,200 individuals and families living across Birmingham and Sandwell.”
Raman Bulsara, CEO of Shree Birmingham Pragati Mandal (Shree Krishna Temple), said: “Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice provides a valuable service and it relies heavily on voluntary donations. We hope the money raised by BPM will go some way to carry on providing this valuable service.”
