A young woman was forced from her car by thieves yesterday evening (Sunday 12th March) in the Shenley area.
The woman’s silver Fiat 500 was surrounded and blocked by three men wearing balaclavas as she travelled in Shenley Fields Road, Selly Oak, at around 7pm.
The men smashed the driver’s side window and dragged the 21 year old out of the Fiat by force before driving off, leaving her with bruised arms and a cut and swollen hand.
Later in the evening, at 9.40pm, police were called to an address in Borrowdale Road, Northfield after reports of shots being fired at a house.
This morning, a West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “… a window was damaged potentially from shots being fired at the address. No-one was injured.”
Officers are examining CCTV evidence after reports that a small silver coloured car was seen leaving the area immediately afterwards.
Although no connection to the two separate offences has been confirmed at this stage of the investigation, the spokeswoman said: “Enquiries are continuing into both offences and officers are currently looking to see if there are any links.”
