An early morning wake-up call for several unsuspecting local residents this morning courtesy of officers from the Organised Crime and Gangs Team.

Stab vests, knives, drugs and a suspected stolen motor bike were among the haul recovered at the pre-planned operation of four addresses in Bournville, Northfield and Darlaston.

Five teenage boys aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm. They were questioned and released on police bail pending further enquires.

A 35-year-old woman was also arrested from one of the addresses in Bournville for theft and released on bail.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We are committed to identifying those suspected of being involved in gang-related crime and the execution of these warrants formed part of our investigations.

“Violent crime will not be tolerated in our communities and we will seek to pursue lengthy custodial sentences through the courts for anyone convicted of being involved.”

  1. Good it’s worrying to think of the crime that’s going on today locally when I have a teenage child myself.. It’s all is parents worry about when we release our children out to socialise with there peers.. Thank god that the police are doing there job and catching these little bastards before they attack another innocent member of the public..
