West Mercia Police is investigating an assault which happened in a park in Rubery and officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.
The incident happened in St Chad’s Park, New Road at about 6pm on Monday 13 February when a 19-year-old man, who was riding a bike in the park, was assaulted by a group of teenage boys who punched him in the face and kicked him in the back.
The group of boys were challenged by brave members of the public which resulted in them leaving of the scene.
The victim suffered facial injuries, in particular to his cheek bone and eye socket.
Officers are urging anyone that witnessed the incident, especially the members of the public who intervened, to come forward.
