A local charity boutique is now offering a personal styling session to help pick out your bargains for you.
Customers at the Bournville Boutique shop run by Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice will be able to book a personal shopping experience to help them snap up a new outfit at a fraction of the cost.
The complimentary service is being offered by manager Louise Harris who has a wealth of experience gained at luxury brands such as Flannels, Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton.
The ladies fashion boutique on Sycamore Road has a luxury look to match the quality of clothes and accessories they sell. Unlike their other charity branches, shoppers will find higher end names such as Joules, Ted Baker, Karen Millen, Boden, Dune and Hobbs on the rails and a few designer labels at this specialist shop. All items are generously donated by members of the public to help raise vital funds for the local Hospice.
Louise Harris, Manager of the Bournville Boutique store on Sycamore Road said: “For our boutique stores, we hand-pick quality branded donations and bring them together in one place. With so many fabulous items on the rails, it can be overwhelming for customers who are trying to find an outfit for a social event or looking to update their wardrobes on a budget. But with the personal styling session, we can point customers in the right direction, offer advice and tips and help them bag a bargain outfit all under one roof.”
Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice has 16 charity shops throughout the city including two ladies fashion boutiques. They are a vital source of fundraising for the local Hospice which needs £8m a year to provide free care and support for over 1,200 individuals and their families, carers and loved ones. Over half of these running costs come from voluntary donations.
This Valentine’s Day, the Hospice has teamed up with other local hospices to help raise awareness about hospice care amongst adults and children who have a life-limiting illness. As part of the ‘Love your Local Hospice’ campaign, Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice is appealing for good quality donations to help support their network of charity shops.
Susan Newcombe, Director of Income Generation and Marketing at Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice said: “The personal styling sessions at our Bournville Boutique are not only a valuable service to our customers but a fantastic way of challenging preconceptions about what you can find in a charity shop.
Donating to any of our charity shops is a small gesture which makes a big impact. Just one bag of donated goods could pay for one hour of specialist nursing care. Our shops couldn’t function without the generosity of our donors which is why we’re asking you to show some love to your local Hospice by making a donation. “
