#B31JustRead: Arnold Ridley’s Ghost Train is stopping in Rubery this week


THE GHOST Train will be calling at the Beacon Church Centre next week when Rubery Drama Group stages its latest production.

The classic play, which runs from Thursday to Saturday (October 20 to 22), was written by Arnold Ridley.

SS01Ridley, better known for playing Pte Godfrey in hit BBC sitcom Dad’s Army, was an accomplished and highly thought of playwright.

The play centres around six passengers accidentally stranded at a small Cornish wayside station and, despite the station master’s stories of a ghost train, they decide to spend the night in the waiting room – a decision they soon regret.
