An application to Birmingham City Council planning department to build 5 new houses off Tessall Lane in Northfield is NOT linked to a local restaurant housed in a listed building.

An application has been submitted to build 5 detached / semi-detached homes, with their own access road, behind the old King George V pub (now King Khan’s Bar and Restaurant) at the corner of Tessall Lane and Bristol Road South in Longbridge.

georgevpaThe planning application notice, posted close to the site, mentions the Grade II Listed former pub (formerly the Emerald Chinese restaurant) due to its proximity to the site.

However, the land that is proposed to be developed is currently used as a scrap / breakers yard, and has been on the site for 20 years.

Recent images sent by members of the club show the bowling green as it is today.
