A local firefighter has assembled a team for a fundraising skydive and hopes to raise over £6000 for research into leukaemia and other blood diseases.
Having sadly lost his mother at the age of 9 – and later a cousin – to leukaemia, Kings Norton firefighter Ben Price, has chosen to fundraise for Bloodwise, a charity which funds research and provides support to improve the lives of blood cancer patients.
Ben has roped in a few work colleagues along with family and friends, to take part in a charity skydive in July.
Alongside the skydive, the team will be holding other fundraising events: from car washes at Kings Norton Fire Station, coffee mornings and cash collections.
Some of the participants have also set themselves extra challenges alongside the skydive – Ben and a friend will be cycling 80 miles to Nottingham to take part in the jump!
