West Mercia Police are seeking witnesses after the attempted rape of a woman in Walkers Heath Park, Kings Norton.

A woman, in her 30s, was walking her dog close to the Walkers Heath Lane entrance at around 9.30pm on Monday 21 March, when she was approached by a man.

The man approached the woman from behind and threatened her verbally while sexually assaulting her.

The woman managed to get free, injuring her arm, and called to her dog. The dog ran back towards them, barking, as the man ran from the scene.

The suspect is described as: 

  • Black
  • 5’10” tall
  • stocky
  • 30-33 years old
  • Dark coloured hooded top with hood up. White drawstrings.
  • Dark coloured tracksuit bottom
  • Wearing a metal dog chain around his neck. No dog was seen with him.

Police wish to speak to anybody who witnessed the incident or anyone who may have seen a man matching the description in the area at the time. Anyone with any information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 179s of 22 March.
