A successful filmmaker from West Heath has had his new film “Cooler” awarded “Official Selection” as part of the Liverpool Lift-Off Film Festival, following global viewing and a successful screening in Oregon, USA.
Paul Moxon is no stranger to success with having many of his films screened/shortlisted in festivals across the US and over here in the UK.
Paul said: “I set up Lightweaver Productions in 2007 and since then our films have received high praise from both film festivals and audiences around the world.”
His new film will be screened online until 6th March 2016 – and this is where you can help. The success of “Cooler” at the festival is dependent on its ratings and how many views it achieves. There are 32 films completing to win a live screening in Tokyo – this is how you can help “Cooler” be the coolest of the bunch! (sorry!)
You can click here to the showcase which features “Cooler” and also the other entries.
It costs £3 to join to view them, but please don’t let that put you off. Not only do you get to see some amazing work, you also get to help a local lad.
Paul said: “I’m a big believer in the incredible creative talent we have within the region and over the years have been a particular supporter in giving a platform to work from new screenwriters.”
We didn’t feel comfortable promoting a film without actually seeing it ourselves, so we joined, viewed and this is our verdict.
It’s beautifully simplistic, in two minutes you experience the lustful, playful start of a love affair and as quickly as it starts, it ends. Leaving you the viewer, feeling rather saddened and reflective of past relationships. Considering that this is a two minute video of the love between a watercooler and a photocopier, I think the talent used to produce this work is without any doubt worthy of your support.
