10Do you have any free time? Are you bored and looking for something interesting to do? Then luckily for you the Wythall Transport Museum have some volunteering opportunities that you may be interested in.

Boasting the finest collection of restored battery electric vehicles in the world, what other incentives to give your time could you possibly require?!

Café & Shop assistants

Working on our quieter “non-event” days, in the café you will be serving hot and cold drinks, chocolate and crisps etc. No food preparation is involved. For either role you will get training in use of the equipment and tills and we’ll place you with an experienced volunteer to learn the ropes.

When: April – October, Saturdays and Sundays between 11am and 4pm (or later if busy). Occasional Wednesdays between 12 noon and 4pm. We will shortly be working on our 2016 rota. You can volunteer for one day a month or more depending on your free time.

Education Guides

Working with our main education officer, you will be helping visiting children understand various aspects of our collection. Usually we receive visits from junior, infant and pre-school age groups. You will get full training in all aspects of the role.

When: Various weekdays during September/October and April – July, depending on bookings being taken. Visits normally arrive just after 9am and leave around 2pm. You can volunteer for one or more days depending on your free time.

Junior Club assistants

Our junior club meets once a month and caters for children aged between 7 and 14. You will help organise and supervise activities to engage the members. Working with the existing volunteers you’ll soon pick up the job!

When: First Saturday each month April to October , 11am to 1pm. You can volunteer for one or more days depending on your free time.
