West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) have confirmed that a woman sadly died in a house fire in the Frankley / Northfield area yesterday afternoon. 

Paramedics and fire service were called to the incident in Coriander Close, Northfield just after 4pm yesterday (Sunday 7th February).

A WMAS spokesman said: “We were called shortly after 4.15pm yesterday. A paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and a paramedic area support officer in a rapid response vehicle attended.

“A woman was confirmed dead at the scene.”

West Midlands Police were called to the scene to support the ambulance and fire crews. They have confirmed this morning that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

West Midlands Fire investigators are working to establish the cause of the fire.
