A38 CLOSED BOTH WAYS between Rubery (Gannow Road) & Lydiate Ash/M5 due to a serious accident – we believe involving a car and a lorry.

Expected to remain closed for several hours.

Update 9.20am from West Mercia Police: 

“Emergency services are still at the scene of a collision on the A38 at Lydiate Ash which happened at about 5am this morning, Friday 5 February.

The collision involved a blue Ford Focus and an articulated lorry.

The A38 is closed between Lydiate Ash and Rubery and drivers are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

More details will be issued when they are available.”

Update from Waseley Hills High School on some pupils being sent home: “We have sent home Y9 students today in order to keep the school open safely for examination groups. Y9 Students telephoned parents at 9.00 am and we have texted home. Any students unable to contact parents or travel home safely have remained in school.”
