A man remains in police custody today after an incident in Kings Norton yesterday evening. 

Police closed Station Road, near the Middleton Hall Road junction, at around 8.30pm on Wednesday 23rd February as negotiators tried to talk down a man who was on the roof of a house. 

Emergency services, including armed police, attended the incident and were supported by helicopters from the National Police Air Service. 

West Midlands Police said: “Ensuring the man’s safety was our top priority.” and confirmed that the 27 year old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to rob and remains in police custody this morning.
