Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following a two car collision on Bristol Road South in Northfield this evening (Wednesday 13th January).

The accident happened at the junction of the A38 with Hawkesley Mill Lane at around 6.45pm and was attended by West Midlands Police, Fire and Ambulance Services.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed on their Twitter account (@OfficialWMAS) that an elderly couple from the first car were both taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham: the lady suffered a skin tear and the man had minor injuries.

They added that a 42 year old man – the driver of the second car which received extensive front end damage – was also taken to the QE with “a bump to head and left ankle pain.”

Anyone who witnessed the accident happen should call West Midlands Police on 101.

    Bristol Rd is becoming a race track ever since the council disconnected the speed cameras…
    There has been some terrible car accidents on Bristol rd over the years.
    Some fatal aswell.
