A teenage boy has presented himself to police after an appeal for information on an incident where woman was injured by a brick thrown at a bus in Northfield.
The 42 year old woman, Jo, suffered a skull fracture and needed several stitches when the brick smashed through the window of the number 18 bus in Holloway on Monday evening.
An appeal for information was posted on B31 Voices yesterday afternoon after the incident was reported by Jo, the victim. It was also reported on Midlands Today in the evening.
Following the media coverage, a 14 year old boy – accompanied by his mother – presented himself at his local police station.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “He will be formally interviewed by officers in due course. Police are also visiting the victim to take an official statement.
“In addition to regular officers patrolling the region’s transport network in plain clothes and uniform, Safer Travel has officers from West Midlands Police and British Transport Police who target offenders using bus, trams and trains.
“The efforts of officers, staff and public transport officials have resulted in transport-related crime across the region driven down to new lows.”
