Santa will be pulling up his sleigh at Northfield Shopping Centre later this month to meet local youngsters.

Eskimo helpers are busy making an animated igloo grotto where Santa can take to his silver and blue ice-throne to meet youngsters and hand them an early Christmas present.

Polar bears, seals and even a few penguins on holiday from the South Pole will feature in the animated Arctic grotto, which will be near the centre’s park entrance.

“Children loved the animated characters – it was lovely to watch them standing fascinated by the animals as they moved. It’s all part of the magic of Christmas, one that I hope they will treasure for years.

“I am sure that it will make help Christmas shopping trips a lot of fun for families.”
