Detectives investigating the murder of a Birmingham teenager on Thursday night say they are continuing to follow up a number of lines of enquiry into the death.
Officers were called to Forde Way Gardens in Hawkesley at 11.30pm on Thursday 8 October, following reports of gunshot. Police went to the scene where they found a man collapsed.
The 19-year-old student, named by police as Connor Smith from Hawkesley, died a short time later.
A post mortem will take place today to establish the cause of death.
We have a number of significant enquiries which officers are following up today to locate the person or persons responsible for Connor’s death. It is horrific that such a young man has lost his life and we would urge anyone who has information about Connor’s death or who is responsible to come forward and speak to us as soon as possible.
