Update 8/9/15  The legal guardian of 18 month old Shi-Anne Downer has been charged with her murder. Kandyce Downer from Beckbury Road will appear in court tomorrow charged with murder/allowing or causing the death of a child. More info 

From West Midlands Police:

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a young girl was found with fatal injuries at an address in Birmingham.

Police were called to a property in Beckbury Road, Weoley Castle, at 10am on Saturday morning (5 Sept) by ambulance colleagues. 

An 18-month-old girl was taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital having suffered a suspected cardiac arrest but was pronounced dead a short time later. Her death is being treated as suspicious.

A post-mortem has taken place and the results were inconclusive. Further tests will now be carried out.

A 35-year-old woman from Weoley Castle arrested at the hospital on Saturday remains in custody. Detectives obtained a warrant of further detention this morning. 

A 37-year-old man from Stourport in Worcestershire arrested on Sunday morning remains in custody.

A 34-year-old man from Oldbury arrested at the hospital on Saturday has been released on bail pending further enquiries and will return for more police questioning on a date next month. “

  1. Could not agree more…got no time for child killers,I think it’s about time this country pushed for capital punishment,to much bullshit surrounding human rights at the moment,brought in by cherry Blair.
    Why rights do this poor child have.
    Hopefully whoever did this,gets the living daylights beat out of them in the nick..
