UPDATE 3/9/15 45 year old Samuel Rogers from Walsall, will appear before Birmingham Magistrates this morning charged with five counts of attempted murder and drink driving. The collision in Melchett Road on Tuesday evening saw a car being driven at a man and a car. 

A 52 year old man is still in hospital in a critical condition. A 53 year old woman also remains in a serious but stable condition. 

The charges are in connection with a traffic collision in Melchett Road, Kings Norton on Tuesday evening at 7.15pm where a car was driven at a man and a car.

West Midlands Police have arrested a 45 year old man on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious road collision in Kings Norton yesterday evening (1st September).

Police attended a collision in Melchett Road  at around 6.30pm. The incident, involving three cars, happened close to the Ford car showroom at Kings Norton Business Park.

A police spokesperson said this morning: “A man and a woman (ages unknown) were taken to hospital; the man remains in a critical condition and the woman is serious but stable.”

A 45 year old man was arrested at the scene and Melchett Road remained closed until around 1.30am while the scene was examined by police.  The arrested man, remains in police custody this morning.
