Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Longbridge at the weekend.

It’s thought a 28 year old Hawkesley man was walking from a house in Thelbridge Road on Saturday 8th August when he received the injury, which is not believed to be life threatening.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called […] at 10.40pm following a report that an occupant had been stabbed …”

The investigation is in its early stages but it is believed a group of men approached the victim and his friends on foot and there was an altercation in the street. On going back to the house, the man realised he had been stabbed.

Anyone with information which may aid investigating officers is asked to call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111
