As the development of Longbridge continues, Birmingham City Council are consulting on road network changes in the area.

Proposals include replacing two Longbridge Lane traffic islands with traffic lights and widening the highway – at Groveley Lane and Turves Green, a cycle route on Longbridge Lane from Longbridge Station to Groveley Lane, and reduced speed limits on Lickey Road and Bristol Road South.

Alterations and improvements are also proposed to the A38 / Lickey Road island and the – currently much bemoaned – A38 / Tessall Lane junction.

You can see full details of the proposals and submit your views online via the Birmingham Be Heard website.

You can also attend one of  three consultation exhibitions. Plans will be on display at The Factory Young People’s Centre, with council officers on hand to discuss.
