West Midlands Police are appealing for information after a man was injured in the foot after being shot at in a Quinton street in what is believed to be a targeted attack. 

Force Incident Manager, Chief Inspector Harvi Khatkar, said: “We believe a car pulled up in Highfield Lane, Quinton, at around 1.20pm today (June 22) before a man got out and discharged a firearm. 

“A man believed to be the intended target suffered a ricochet injury to his foot; it’s understood this was a targeted attack. Enquiries are on-going to trace the vehicle involved and understand a likely motive for the shooting. Highfield Lane has been sealed off while a fingertip search of the scene is carried out.”
