Two women and three children were injured outside a south Birmingham school this afternoon, when an unattended car rolled down a hill and into pedestrians.
The accident happened at Woodgate Junior and Infant School in Lutley Grove.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews were called to an incident involving a car which appears to have rolled backwards injuring two adults and young children.
“A five year old male was treated for a serious abdominal and leg injuries. The patient was immobilised and given pain relief before being taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
“The mother, believed to be in her thirties, was assessed at the scene but was found to be uninjured. She travelled with the five year old child to hospital.
“Ambulance crews also assessed two further children and an adult. The children were assessed for minor injuries at the scene and later released. A female was treated for a foot injury and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.”
