West Midlands Police have released an appeal for witnesses after a 23 year old man was sadly killed in a moped accident in on Wednesday night (18th March.)

The accident happened at around 10pm at the junction of Ormond Road and Mitten Avenue.

The road was closed for several hours as collision investigation officers examined the scene. 

Police statement :

The 23-year-old man came off his silver Sym scooter and, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff at the scene, he suffered fatal injuries. No other vehicle was involved.

The collision happened just before 10pm on Ormond Road, Frankley. The road was closed for several hours while specialist collision reconstruction staff examined the scene to establish what happened.

Sergeant Alan Wood said: “I am keen to trace any witnesses to help us to establish how and why the man came off his scooter.

“His family have been informed and specialist officers are liaising with them at this difficult time.”

Anyone with information which may help Sergeant Wood and his team should call police on 101.

    I know this area….Frankley is full of young kids on scooters and motorbikes…
    Holly hill Rd is rife with it….
    And where’s the police when you need them…..
