A NEW jewellery store has opened at Northfield shopping centre bringing with it seven new jobs.
The much anticipated Warren James store was officially opened, with shoppers queuing outside before the opening to welcome the well-known brand to the mall.
Many rushed in to make the most of opening offers and new manager Emma Willetts got straight down to business along with her seven-strong team.
She said: “We had people queuing up outside the store waiting for it to open so it was a very positive way to start and the store has been busy ever since. We are really pleased with how things have gone.
“The feedback from customers was that they are really pleased to see a jewellery store at Northfield and we will be bringing something new to the shopping centre which is great for our customers.”
Northfield Shopping Centre’s manager Pete Barber said: “It’s fantastic news that the centre is adding such a respected and popular brand to the tenant line up.
“It’s an offer we don’t currently have so the arrival of Warren James will provide another coup for the centre and another great reason to come to Northfield.
“It follows the opening in the last year of JD Sports, Ponden Homes and Jessica’s Sweets, all of which have really boosted centre’s visitor numbers which continue to increase every month.
“It’s great news for the centre and Northfield community as creates employment too. It really is a success story for both the shopping centre and Northfield town centre.”
Customers were keen to check out the store as soon as it opened with many straight in to browse goods once the ribbon had been cut.
Among them was Sandra Upton from Kings Norton who felt the shop would be a welcome addition to the Northfield Shopping Centre, a place she visits regularly when visiting her sisters every Saturday.
She said: “I wanted to go and have a nosey and it looks like they’ve got some nice stuff and at reasonable prices which makes a difference.
“There are people right round the corner and they seem to be buying so it is going down well. I might buy something myself but maybe a bit later in the year, now I know it’s here.
“More importantly, now I know where to send my husband,” the 59-year-old added.

The company prides itself on offering gold, silver and diamond jewellery and uses its network of international suppliers and craftsmen to keep overheads low in order to offer outstanding value and great jewellery design.
Midlands area manager for the company Lyndsey Holmes said: “We are all very excited to open our doors and can’t wait to start meeting shoppers in Northfield.
“We’re confident that our new customers will be quick to catch on to the amazing saving opportunities we have to offer.”
