Priorities of the last meeting.

Dome Hawk Cameras Kings Norton.

As a result of concerns raised at the last Kings Norton NHT Tasking meeting an audit check has been made on the 5 Dome Hawk Cameras allocated to Kings Norton Ward. I can confirm that all cameras are in working order.

Current locations – Hawkesley Square, Hawkesley Park, Greaves Square and Kinlet Avenue.

Speed Visors.

Information has been received from the Highways Engineer. Unfortunately due to the current inclement weather conditions, there has been a delay in the installation of the speed visors allocated to Kings Norton Ward. It is hoped that the installation will commence in March.

NHT Operations.

Officers from Kings Norton NHT have conducted two drugs warrants on Kings Norton Ward since the last Tasking Meeting. On both occasions drugs were recovered. At one address a large quantity of both Class A and Class B drugs were recovered. A small amount of Class B was recovered from the second property.

Scrap Metal.

Kings Norton NHT Officers working in partnership with Environmental Health Officers, conducted a scrap metal operation on Wednesday 4th February. A number of officers from neighbouring teams and the Traffic department were also involved. Areas around the 3 Estates in particular the Groves off Green Lane have been targeted by scrap metal dealers. Regeneration Manager Mrs Bali Paddock has been consulted. It has been agreed that signs will be put up on the void properties advising that the empty homes have been stripped of all copper/boilers ect. It is hoped that this will act as a deterrent to potential scrap metal thieves.

Joint Operation.

A joint operation has been arranged with the Dog Wardens and officers from Kings Norton NHT. The operation will be educational and enforcement. This will include distribution of dog waste bags, literature and advice to dog walkers. Offenders could be subject to an on the spot fixed penalty notice and a fine of £80.00. There will be exemptions for assistance dogs.
