Turves Green Girls’ School is supporting the First Night appeal by setting up a collection point in the school reception.

The First Night appeal aims to support women and children fleeing their home due to domestic abuse over the Christmas period. Every year women and children flee their home because of domestic abuse. They often have no time to pack but see this as their only chance to live in a safe place.

Birmingham Community Safety Partnership is asking people to donate items which can make families feel valued and which they can use on their first night in a refuge:  colouring books; pencils and crayons; puzzles; books; toiletries; chocolate. See below for the top 10 Donation items. If you would like to donate, please bring items to Turves Green Girls’ School, Turves Green, Northfield, Birmingham B31 4BP.
