West Midlands Police have released moving CCTV images of two men committing a robbery at a local shop in Northfield.

The two men entered the Nisa store on Egghill Lane at around 10pm on Saturday 1st November. One man pointed what appeared to be a handgun in a carrier bag at the shopkeeper and the pair demanded cash, alcohol and cigarettes.

The shopkeeper refused to submit to their demands, even when the bag, containing what he believed to be a gun, was held to his head.

Investigating officer DC Michelle Beasley said: “The storekeeper remained calm throughout what must have been a very alarming ordeal. He refused to comply with the robbers’ demands, even when they moved behind the counter and held what he believed to be a gun to his head.

“Despite their threats, the men eventually left empty-handed and made off towards Frankley.”
