Readers reported a police presence, including armed response officers and helicopter support, in the centre of Northfield early on Friday evening (10th Oct).

West Midlands Police today confirmed that they were called to reports of a fight in Church Road just before 6pm.

A police spokeswoman said: “One call mentioned that a firearm might possibly have been seen. Police attended and established no firearm was involved.”

The spokeswoman said that one person was taken to hospital with a head injury but that: “… it is not known at this stage whether this was connected to the fight as man couldn’t say how the injury occurred.”

  1. There seems to be a small group who frequent that area causing problems. Its about time they were dealt with properly, though if the past issues are anything to go by they will all get a slap on the wrist….thats if they were even arrested.
