The Police tasking meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of every Month at 6.30pm at –

Hawkesley Community Centre, Edgewood Road Kings Norton.



On the 1st of October 2014, changes came into effect around Car Tax. Owners are still required to purchase car tax. The details will be retained on the system, without the need to display a disc. ALL information can be found on the DVLA or .Gov websites.



A designated Officer from Kings Norton Neighbourhood Team has been assigned to each school / Academy and Cadbury College on Kings Norton Ward. The Officers have been involved in Operation Immobilise. This comprised of Bike Marking and the recording of Imei/serial numbers of students Mobile Phones and Tablet Devices.

In addition, Police Surgeries are held with the students, at the Ark Academy and Cadbury College. This provides the students with an opportunity to discuss/ share any concerns they may have.



Officers on Patrol identified and arrested a male, who was wanted in connection with a number of burglary offences in Kings Norton. He has been charged and remanded in custody.  It has been noted since his reduction there has been a marked reduction in Burglaries across the Ward.



Officers are conducted targeting Hi Visibility patrols across identified areas across the Ward. The areas identified are subject to repeat calls for service.

Hawkesley Square, The Fold, Brooklea Grove and Owens Croft. The Groves off Green Lane and Wychall Lane shopping areas. Statistics have shown a reduction in calls / ASB / + Crime at the locations. Officers from neighbouring Wards conduct patrols when the local Neighbourhood Team are on rest days.



On 3rd October 2014 =, a road on the Wychall Lane Estate was cordoned off by Police, after a report was received of shots being fired just after 7am. Part of Kinlet Avenue was closed while forensic investigators examined the scene. No arrests have been made. Neighbourhood patrols were increased to reassure local residents.

The annual Mop Fair was held on Monday 6th October at Kings Norton Green. The Fair was larger than in previous years. It was noted that the additional rides had been sited on the car park of the Navigation Public House. Neighbourhood Police Sergeant Lowe, intends to submit a report, advising it would be beneficial for the local community if the Mop Fair was reduced in size in future. The intention is for the Mop Fair to finish earlier and become more of a family orientated event.



There is a planned operation on the run up to Bonfire night. The operation will involve Officers from Kings Norton Neighbourhood Policing Team, Housing Staff and Fire Officers. the teams will be working in partnership on Bonfire Night. They will be instrumental in dismantling and removing items that could be used to build bonfires. A mini Fire engine will be on hand to put out illegal bonfires.

Officers will be conducting inputs to all of the schools around Halloween and Bonfire Night.



On Thursday 27th November 2014, The Christmas Lights at Kings Norton green will be switched on by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham. There will be an additional Christmas farmers Market that evening between 5pm-8.30pm.



The proposed planning  applications for Supermarkets at the Green Kings Norton have been rejected. The proposed sites were Sainsbury on the Car park of the Navigation Public House and the Co-op on Pershore Road South, The Green.



There is still no update on the 3 estates regeneration programme. There are NO Confirmed details on the proposed supermarket on the Redditch Road site.
