From St Chad's, Rubery:
Thursday 4th September was a great day for the Parish of St Chad, Rubery as the Rev’d Claire Turner was licensed and installed as the new Priest-in-Charge.
The joyful service was led by the Bishop of Birmingham, the Rt Rev’d David Urquhart assisted by the Rev’d Hayward Osborne (Archdeacon of Birmingham) and the Rev’d Melusi Sibanda (Area Dean, King’s Norton Deanery).
The congregation of over 150 included many people from the local community, some of Claire’s past colleagues and a full complement of clergy from Churches Together in B45.
Of her new appointment the Rev’d Claire Turner said: “I am absolutely delighted to have arrived in Rubery and am really excited about how the ministry of St Chad’s might grow and develop over the coming years. It’s been wonderful to meet both those who have been worshipping at St Chad’s for many years and people who have joined the church more recently and I’m looking forward to welcoming those who will no doubt come for the first time in the future.”
Claire joins St Chad’s after a wonderful three years in Wednesfield and brings with her previous experience of working at various arts organisations.
She, her family and the St Chad’s community look forward to seeing you at St Chad’s, Rubery. The main weekly act of worship takes place at 10am on Sunday mornings with other events, services and social activities taking place at other times. For example, why not drop in for coffee on Saturday 20th September at any time between 10am and 12noon…?
If you’d like to get in touch, please email Claire on firstname.lastname@example.org or pop in to church one Sunday!
