Tuesday 7th October, 4pm at Turves Green Girls’ School, B31 4BP,  Main Hall. All Welcome.

Earlier this year Turves Green Girls’ School and Cofton Primary School formed a co-operative trust in partnership with Bournville College, Cadbury College, Worcester University and Alphabets at Cofton. The schools are now a part of the Schools Co-operative Society and have embraced the co-operative values and principles of;

  • Self-help
  • Self-responsibility
  • Democracy
  • Equality
  • Equity
  • Solidarity
  • Openness
  • Honesty
  • Social responsibility
  • Caring for others

Co-operative Schools put the community and needs of the stakeholders at the centre of the educational process and give stakeholders a real say in the running of their schools and influence over education policy within the trust. The stakeholder forum is made up of parents, staff, learners, members of the local community and representatives of community organisations and is an important means by which schools and community can work together.

This will be the second meeting of the forum and we are very keen to build a wider membership.

By working together we hope to be able to forge new partnerships and opportunities for the benefit of everyone and most especially our children and young people. But to make this a success we need the whole community to get involved. We need parents, learners,  residents, businesses, community organisations, charities, volunteers, faith leaders – in short everyone who makes up our community.  So please come along on the 7th October. Everyone is welcome.
