An 18 year old man was arrested this morning following an incident in Northfield.
West Midlands Police responded after receiving reports of a man with a knife acting violently outside a property in Allens Farm Road at just after 10am.
When officers arrived, the man was in the front garden and threatened them with a knife and his German Shepherd dog.
Following negotiations, the man was finally arrested at 11.45am.
Inspector Christopher Gittins was keen to reassure members of the public and thank them for their patience during the incident.
Insp Gittins said: “We appreciate the sight of a large amount of officers could cause concern, but throughout the incident officers took every measure necessary to ensure the safety of local residents as well as the man himself.”
