A free community event this Saturday launches a Longbridge factory archive exhibition.

The event will bring together ex-factory workers, the local community and artists working on the Longbridge Public Art Project.

Artist Sarah Nokes has worked with ex-workers John Baker and Keith Woodfield, along with local Rev Colin Corke, to bring together an archive of material representing life as a factory worker over the decades. The piees are described as “poignant, humorous and exciting.

This even also provides an opportunity for local people to find out more about, and get involved in, the first annual Longbridge Light Festival which will be held this October.

There will also be a number of workshops for people to take part in including: Collage making, flag making, pattern making and sign making.

Refreshments will be provided.

If you can’t make the launch event, the exhibition will continue until the end of August and can be seen at the LPAP|SPACE between 10.30am-6pm Weds-Sat

  1. I don’t get this at all, as locals all we want is for the Mini to brought back which Cllr Cartwright has given me an update. No one knows what is going on this is really poor engagement of the local community. Sad that local artists and groups are not delivering this.
