West Midlands Ambulance Service have confirmed that three men were taken to hospital following a two car collision in Northfield this morning.
Emergency services were called to the collision close to Dingle island on Frankley Beeches Road just after 9am.
The road was closed until just after midday and occupants of one vehicle had to be freed by firefighters with cutting apparatus.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Three men were treated for their injuries following a collision involving two vehicles in Northfield.
“A man believed to be in his sixties and a male in his twenties travelling together in one of the cars involved were treated for back injuries. They were immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board before being taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
“The driver of a second car involved, a man believed to be in his fifties, was also treated for back injuries and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”
