A 30 year old man remains in custody on assault charges this morning, after a woman was struck by a car in Northfield on Sunday morning (8th June).

The 35-year-old woman was hit in the collision on Merritt’s Hill just before 10.50am on Sunday. Her injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman confirmed this morning that a second road traffic accident which happened shortly afterwards in Holloway was also linked.

Officers arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and he remains in custody today.
