Invitation to attend the first meeting of the Stakeholder Forum, Tuesday 24th June at 4pm at St John the Baptist Church Hall on the corner of Longbridge Lane and Turves Green, B31 4JN. All Welcome.

Turves Green Girls’ School and Cofton Primary School have formed a co-operative trust in partnership with Bournville College, Cadbury College, Worcester University and Alphabets at Cofton. The schools are now a part of the Schools Co-operative Society and have embraced the co-operative values and principles of;

  • Self-help
  • Self-responsibility
  • Democracy
  • Equality
  • Equity
  • Solidarity
  • Openness
  • Honesty
  • Social responsibility
  • Caring for others

Co-operative Schools put the community and needs of the stakeholders at the centre of the educational process and give stakeholders a real say in the running of their schools and influence over education policy within the trust. The stakeholder forum will be made up of parents, staff, learners, members of the local community and representatives of community organisations and will be an important means by which schools and community can work together. The forum will appoint two members to the trust board which in turn will appoint some of the governors.

We are very excited about what this means for our whole community. By working together we hope to be able to forge new partnerships and opportunities for the benefit of everyone and most especially our children and young people.  But to make this a success we need the whole community to get involved. We need parents, learners,  residents, businesses, community organisations, charities, volunteers, faith leaders – in short everyone who makes up our community.  So please come along on the 24th June to help us launch the forum. Everyone is welcome.
