Candidates nominated to stand in the local government and European elections in May have been announced today.

Polls will be open between 7am and 10pm on 22nd May 2014.

You will be asked to vote for a local ward councillor to represent you on Birmingham City Council. You will also be asked to vote for your favoured party to represent you in the European Parliament. Links to lists of candidates are below

Make sure you’re registered to vote by May 6th! You’re not automatically on the electoral register, even if you’re registered with the council for council tax and services. If you’re not sure if you’re registered, information about registering, voting and postal votes can be obtained from Elections Office, Council House, Victoria Square, Birmingham  0121 303 2731 or http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/elections

  1. I see that the european election candidates for this area come from far and wide…even as far away as London in the case of candidate 6 for the Labour Party…how can someone from London possibly represent this area :/
