0rxdxmasTwo friends from Lickey have raised a generous £850 by designing, producing and selling a Christmas T-shirt to help children suffering after Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

Tom and Simon run fitness clothing company Rx’d Limitless and wanted to do something for those left suffering after the storm which devastated areas of the country.

The pair paid for the production of the T-shirts out of their own pockets and sold them for £10, ensuring 100% of the sale price was donated to Unicef’s ‘Typhoon Haiyan Children’s Emergency Appeal’

Tom is a keen CrossFitter, training and coaching at Second City CrossFit in Rednal and is a firm believer in the community values set out by the programme;  Simon feels very strongly that anything that can be done to help those in need will be done. Both wanted to do something to help improve the lives of those who have suffered at the hands of this most recent catastrophic natural disaster so were happy to cover the manufacturing costs of the T-shirt.

When an initial production run of 30 shirts were quickly sold, the pair kept making more to meet demand from their customers, mostly members of the CrossFit community, until a total of 85 shirts had been produced and sold – raising a very healthy £850 for UNICEF’s appeal.

Well done, Tom and Si!
