Step2Sport in Association with Focus Through Football are providing a multi-sport, dance, arts and crafts camp this October Half Term at Balaam Wood Academy.

The camp has received backing from Frankley Parish Council, Longbridge ward councillors and Longbridge police. It has also received financial backing of £2000 from Frankley Parish Council and £1000 from the Police Property Act Fund via Longbridge Police.

Frankley Parish Council believe that it extremely important for them to be associated with a scheme that is keeping children active in half term while also encouraging them to build new relationships with children from the area, they have also volunteered to attend and help in the awards ceremony at the end of the camp.

West Midlands Police have also gave their support and financial backing to the camp saying that it is great to have something exciting provided in the community over half term and would also like to attend.

This has ensured that the cost has been kept down for parents and carers at only a £3 contribution per child per day.

James McPike, Director of coaching for Focus Through Football said “The camp has been widely received by the Frankley community, local councillors from both the Frankley and Longbridge wards and many of the residents, who are all excited at the prospect of a regular activity scheme for the children in the area”.

Jane Harris, Head Teacher of Balaam Wood Academy who are providing the facilities said that the camp is a great idea and will be a fantastic addition to the community.

James added, “Our goal is to create a sustainable and regular activity camp based at Balaam Wood Academy. The aim is for parents in Frankley to know that on a regular basis throughout the school holidays their children will have a safe, affordable and fun place to go to, where they are able to socialise and build new relationships with other children.”

The camp runs 9am-3.30pm Mon 28th Oct to Friday 1st Nov. If you are interested in booking a place for your child call:  07794 777151 or email:
