A second man has been arrested this afternoon in relation to the murder of an 18 year old man in Selly Oak on Friday night.
Joshua Ribera, 18 of Moseley, aka Depzman, was stabbed outside TCs club in Coronation Road where he had been attending a fundraising event. A post mortem has revealed that Joshua died from a stab wound to the heart. The event was to raise funds for a headstone for his friend Kyle Sheehan who died a week after being stabbed in Bartley Green in September last year.
An 18 year old man handed himself in at Dudley Police station yesterday morning and has been arrested on suspicion of murder. A second 18 year old man, from Edgbaston, handed himself in at Bloxwich Police Station this afternoon and has also been arrested in connection with the incident.
Detective Inspector Gary Plant, from Force CID, said: “There were a lot of people in attendance at the fund raising event and we know that Joshua was a very popular person and a well-known rising musical star. I would appeal for anyone who knows anythiing to come forward. There are still a number of people who haven”t been spoken to by police. A lot of Joshua”s friends were at the function and may have vital information about what happened and we urge them to come forward.”
Social networking sites are full of messages of condolence for local grime music star Josh aka DepzMan. There is a Facebook page where friends can leave messages of condolence. One group of friends is working on releasing a CD of Depzman’s music.
