New heart for Longbridge |

Longbridge developers St. Modwen have signed up three food retailers to the new Longbridge town centre and promise more announcements regarding tenants soon.

Greggs, Simply Eat and Costa coffee have all taken units on the high street to create a family orientated location where people can meet, eat and make the most of the town centre .

There will be 24 shops and restaurants, including Sainsbury’s, Hungry Horse, Premier Inn, Beefeater and independent retailers, alongside two new office developments and the newly landscaped Austin Park.

Mark Watkins, senior development surveyor at St. Modwen, has been responsible for working with tenants and retail letting agents BWD on this major regeneration project. He said: “We are really pleased to be able to announce the latest round of retailers to sign up to Longbridge. Costa, Greggs and Simply Eat, all have excellent reputations and we’re looking forward to welcoming them to Longbridge.

Adrian Gibbins, regional property manager at Greggs added: “Longbridge provides us with an ideal opportunity, especially given the high street’s proximity to office accommodation and potential footfall from Bournville College. The new shop offers a modern, fit for purpose facility in a prime location.”

Mike Murray, senior development surveyor at St. Modwen says: ”The town centre will be the centrepiece to the Longbridge regeneration project and will not only be an attractive and lively destination for residents, workers and students, but will also bring a significant boost to the community, creating jobs and restoring confidence in the local economy.

He added: “As we approach the opening of the new town centre, we look forward to announcing more tenant wins in the coming weeks.”
