A new BBC One drama is being filmed in the local area.

By Any Means, which will hit our screens in October, stars Luther sidekick Warren Brown alongside Shelley Conn (Mistresses, Marchlands), Andrew Lee Potts (Primeval, Ideal) and Gina McKee (The Borgias, In The Loop). Guest stars on the show include  Elliot Knight (Sinbad), John Henshaw (South Riding), Keith Allen (Robin Hood), Kate Dickie (Game Of Thrones), Neil Maskell (Utopia) and Martin Jarvis (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo).

Filming has been taking place around Birmingham, including on location at Beacon Hill in the Lickey Hills Country Park, Weoley Castle, Bartley Green and on the Cock Hill estate in Rubery.

All the flowers at locations in the area have been provided by Northfield’s Flower Centre.

Resident of Hillside House, Cock Hill Stephanie Boyd said on our facebook page: “The actor & all the crew are really nice they where filming in my block of flats & on my floor & they kept me up to date with everything”.

Lead actor Warren Brown said: “I’m thrilled and excited to be working on By Any Means.  I loved Jack Quinn from the moment I read the script- he’s a great character full of contradictions which I’m looking forward to bringing to life.”

By Any Means is a Red Planet Pictures production for the BBC. The writing team have combined credits including Strike Back, New Tricks, This Life, Silent Witness, EastEnders and Ashes to Ashes.
