Seven friends, seven peas in a pod.

It is England 2012, post The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and it is the eve of the much-anticipated London 2012 Olympic Games. The party is well and truly over as seven young adults come to terms with their lives After The Event.

We are in the heart of Northfield just off the High Street. Present time is 2077 but the scenes are focused on the 27th July 2012. The London Olympic Games Opening Ceremony took place at 9pm on 27th July 2012.

After The Event is a youth-led outdoor theatre performance created by Work in Progress and a cast of ten young adult performers. It combines traditional theatre, a spoken word chorus and a soundtrack inspired by the music of ska and The Specials to create a thoroughly entertaining show.

Come along to watch on Friday 19th or Saturday 20th July, it will be a great time for socialising, grabbing a bite to eat or just taking in the full show experience!

Pre-show entertainment features live music from local band Skabucks (Friday evening 7pm), performances from Spoz, Matt Windle and Fourth Wall Theatre plus selected spoken word artists and musicians (Saturday matinee 12 noon) and a set from the highly acclaimed Beatfreeks ensemble to welcome in the final show (Saturday evening 7pm).

After the Event is supported by Northfield Town Centre Partnership and Northfield Business Improvement District (BID), and generously funded by Arts Council England.
