A woman was airlifted to hospital this morning (Sunday 19th May) following a serious road traffic collision in Bournville.
The accident, which involved two vehicles, happened at around 9.30am on Kingsley Road, near the junction with Woodlands Park Road.
The woman, believed to have been a back seat passenger, was trapped in the vehicle. Crews from Northfield Fire Station used cutting equipment to free her from the car.
The woman was treated for a serious head injury – she was anaesthetised by a doctor at the scene before being conveyed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by air ambulance.
A woman and two children (10 months and 8 years old) from the same vehicle were taken to hospital for assessment and treatment.
The driver and passenger from the second vehicle were assessed and discharged.
Roads around the scene were closed off by police during the incident.
