A man was taken to hospital this morning after an accident in Longbridge.

The man, in his 50s, was in a wheelchair when he was involved in a collision with a car just outside McDonalds on Bristol Road South, Longbridge.

West Midlands Ambulance Service  were called at around 9.20am and sent a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance to the scene. Crews found the man to be disorientated and his wheelchair badly damaged.

A spokesperson said: “Ambulance staff treated him for head and arm injuries before taking him to [Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham]. The car driver was thankfully unhurt.”
