The achievements of young people will be celebrated tomorrow at the Northfield Constituency Youth Excellence Awards.

The annual event, at The Factory Young People’s Centre, is the second of its kind and is organised by West Midlands Police. Local police, councillors, youth workers and community members will come together to recognise the positive community contributions of young people.

Categories include: Peer Support Award, Positive Change Award, Significant Contribution to the Community Award, Karen Greasley Award for Inspirational Leadership, Special Recognition Award, Team of the Year Award and the Billie-Jayne Fulford Award for Outstanding Individual Achievement.

Pupils from local schools have been nominated for awards: Bournville School, Colmers School, Frankley Community High School, Shenley Academy, Turves Green Boys School and St Thomas Aquinas School are all represented.
