A Birmingham theatre group is calling for young people from across Northfield constituency to join their new company.

The Fourth Wall Theatre Network, established by ex-Colmers pupil Dan Bridgewater, has set up a new community theatre company for 11-18 year olds. The company members will work with community partners to select themes around local social issues which they will then work with and create performances from.

As well as learning creative theatre skills & gaining confidence, members will get to explore social issues in the community they live in. Dan hopes to hold post performance debates where young people will get to talk to local politicians and community partners about these issues.

Fourth Wall have previously worked in partnership with schools, helping pupils set up their own school companies. This is the first in a series of community theatre companies that the organisation are planning across the city.

If you’d like to join, or know someone who would, go along to:

The Factory Young People’s Centre, Devon Way, Longbridge B31 2TS
