Colmers School (Seniors) will be closed tomorrow (Thursday 28th March) as it is  being used as an Emergency Rest Centre following the flooding of a block of flats in the Longbridge ward.

The school’s website explains:

“As a designated Rest Centre many of our facilities are prioritised for the use and accommodation of affected residents and therefore it is impractical for pupils to be present whilst parts of the school are for those residents.
The school is doing everything it can to support the residents and provide a warm and welcoming environment for them at this difficult time.
If you have an appointment at Colmers on Thursday 28th March then this will not take place and contact will be made with you to rearrange after the Easter break.
We wish to thank parents in anticipation for their understanding. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues who volunteered to stay behind for so long after school tonight to make the necessary preparations for the use of the school as a Rest Centre.
The school will reopen as normal after the Easter break on Monday 15th April for all pupils at the normal time.”

We wish all the displaced residents well and hope that they can return to their homes as soon as possible.
